St Andrews State Park
St Andrews State Park is located just east
of Panama City Beach
and across St Andrews Bay from Panama
City. St Andrews State Park has 2.5 miles of pristine white sand and
emerald water beach. St Andrews State Park offers activities such
as swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, camping and boating. St Andrews
State Park has several tour boating services and tours can last for
as little as an hour or up to several hours.
St Andrews State Park first opened in 1951 and was once the site of a WW II Military Reservation. This state park has received several high rankings as a beach. This is probably due to its location on a barrier island like peninsula at the mouth of St Andrews Bay. On the west St Andrews faces the Gulf of Mexico and on the east is Grand Lagoon. Directly east and across the mouth of the bay is Tyndall Air Force Base.
The location of St Andrews makes this place an excellent boat launch area. There are fees if you want to launch from St Andrews. For one person the fee is currently $12.00 and $16.00 for 2-8 people. There are 176 camp sites with electricity, water, picnic tables and grills available but the must be reserved in advance. RV's cannot be over 40 feet long. The St Andrews Park web site has more information.
